Buddy Doyle, President and CEO
Buddy Doyle is a geologist that has a record of continuous discovery during his long career. He has earned the distinction of having seen 2 substantial projects from discovery through the decision to mine, through mine build and opening. He brings to the Company a disciplined, scientific approach to mineral exploration, evaluation and development honed in over 36 years’ experience, 23 of them spent in various positions at Rio Tinto PLC.
His gold experience began on arriving on Lihir Island in 1986 where he was a key member of the Kennecott Exploration Australia team that discovered the multi-million ounce Minifie and Kapitz gold deposits at Lihir in 1986-1989. Whilst he was on the Lihir project he was made senior project geologist, made the first resource estimate on the Minifie ore body and was involved in the environmental, geothermal, community, hydrological and geotechnical aspects of the project. After spending sometime exploring for gold and copper in the PNG highlands he was transferred to Canada. At Kennecott Canada, Mr. Doyle led the team that discovered the Diavik diamond deposits in 1994-1995. Mr. Doyle saw this multi-billion dollar project from discovery to mine opening. In 2007was recognized by his peers, receiving the Hugo Dummett diamond award for excellence in Diamond exploration. He has also authored/co-authored numerous scientific papers on related topics. Since leaving RTZ Mr. Doyle has led Amarillo to the position if finds itself today, a million ounce open pit gold mining project, with robust economic, permitted, poised to move to operations. Mr. Doyle is a graduate of the Queensland University of Technology, with a BSc in Applied Geology. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, the Society of Economic Geology, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the Society of Exploration Geochemists.
Richard Brown, Business Development, Director
Richard Brown, an experienced geologist resident in Brazil, is the local face and manager of the Company’s exploration activity. Mr. Brown has extensive worldwide experience in both mineral and petroleum exploration. For the last 12 years he has lived in South America, establishing local companies and acquiring a portfolio of mining properties in Ecuador, Peru, Argentina and Brazil. Mr. Brown combines a thorough knowledge of the local business culture with an extensive network of industry contacts, assets whose importance to the Company have already been amply demonstrated by the acquisition of the properties at Mara Rosa and Lavras do Sul. He is fluent in Portuguese as well as Spanish. Mr. Brown earned a BApp.Sc in Geology at Curtin University, Western Australia and an MBA at the Business School, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Roland Uloth, Executive Chairman
Mr. Rolly Uloth is a seasoned mining executive with almost 20 years experience in various positons at Wesdome Gold Mines and its predecessor companies.
Mr. Uloth joined River Gold Mines in 1998 as a Director and in 2001 he became President and Director of River Gold Mines. In 2006, on completion of the merger between Wesdome and Eagle River Mines, Mr. Uloth became Chairman of the combined companies. During this time, the company enjoyed some of its most profitable years. He resigned as President and Director of Wesdome in 2009. In August 2013, at the request of a major shareholder of Wesdome, Mr. Uloth rejoined the company as President and CEO and held this position until last year. Mr. Uloth remains on the Wesdome board as a Director of the company.
Rostislav ("Rosty") Raykov, Independent Director
Mr. Raykov has served as a director of Fennec Pharmaceuticals Inc., a publicly traded biotechnology company, for the last six years, and as Chief Executive Officer since July 2009. Mr. Raykov is also a General Partner at DCML,a private investment partnership. Prior to DCML,Mr.Raykovwasa co-founder and portfolio manager for Alchem Investment Partners, an event driven hedge fund. He also worked as a portfolio manager for Purchase Associates, an event driven hedge fund owned by John Levin & Co., and began his career as a financial analyst in the natural resources group at Bear Stearns. Also served on the board of Wesdome, a publicly traded gold mining company. Mr. Raykov graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.
David Birkett, Independent Director
David Birkett graduated in 1985 from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He is the President and founding Director of Distinct Resources Corp, a private oil company. David was the President of AltaGas Natural Gas Storage Ltd. and Alton Natural Gas Storage Inc. as well as the President, Chief Executive Officer and founding director of Landis Energy Corporation until it was acquired by AltaGas Ltd. in 2010. He has over 25 years experience with public companies in the areas of corporate development, management, finance and exploration.
Colin is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 20 years of financial and operational experience. Most recently he served as President of McEwen Mining Inc. During his tenure, the share price more than tripled, the Company grew its treasury, met operational guidance and improved its financial guidance. Immediately prior to McEwen, he was Managing Director and CEO of Archipelago Resources Plc, which operated a large producing gold mine in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. In 2013, Mr. Sutherland led the successful privatization of Archipelago, and continued to deliver significant returns to its shareholders. During his tenure gold production grew to 200,000 ounces per annum, and costs were significantly reduced. Mr. Sutherland has also held senior financial and executive roles with Timmins Gold, Capital Gold, Nayarit Gold and Aurico Gold.
Scott Eldridge, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Eldridge is well seasoned in the financial industry focused on the resource sector, he is a co-founder of Euroscandic International Group Inc., a private company offering accounting and investment banking services to natural resource companies. Mr. Eldridge also currently serves as President & CEO of Euroscandic, a position he has held for the last 7 years. During his time in the industry he has been responsible for raising in excess of $500 million in combined equity and debt financing for mining projects varying from exploration to construction financing around the globe. Mr. Eldridge has a B.B.A. from Capilano University, and an M.B.A. from Central European University.
