Santo Antonio consists of eight exploration permits totalling 15,000 hectares. It is located in the northern part of Goias state in central Brazil, approximately 300 km NW of the national capital, Brasilia. The Property lies within a northeast trending belt of Meso-proterozoic metamorphosed sedimentary rocks from the Araí Group which have been subjected to the Brasiliano tectonic event.
The property was acquired from Phelp’s Dodge in 2004. This group retains a 1.5% NSR. Gold mineralisation on this property is associated with a number of garimpos within and adjacent to the areas held by Amarillo, which were mined up to the mid-90’s. Two of these garimpos, Fofoca and Carmo are to be mapped and firmed up as drill targets during the field season of 2008.
In 2007, Amarillo also carried out a regional BLEG program over the property. This resulted in a number of anomalies in virgin terrain that are required for follow up.
